General Motors Will Introduce Augmented Reality To Cars

Will let you see the edges of the roads in the fog

Augmented reality systems is going to be added soon by US-based car maker General Motors into the windscreens of cars. Known as the “enhanced vision system”, the system is envisioned to assist drivers in paying attention to particular objects found on the road.

Grounded on the combination of sensors installed outside and inside of the car, the technology will track down the location of the car, the face and the eyes of the driver, and the objects outside of the car. It will come very useful in alerting drivers on traffic and obstacles, and guide drivers on the edges of the roads in times of dense fog and darkness.

The technology, however, is far from being implemented. As of the moment, it is still in the research phase and projected to be available in the year 2016 at the earliest or by 2018.
