Movie Synopsis:
For Oxford and Cambridge, pride is a colour… For the first time ever the doors of the Oxbridge amateur boxing clubs have been opened to cameras, and the physical and emotional journeys of five of young men from Oxford embark on their biggest University challenge yet – to beat their opponent in the annual Oxford v Cambridge Varsity Boxing Match.
“Blue Blood” follows five drastically different Oxford students and their blue – collar coach, Des, in the run-up to the highly-charged showdown with Cambridge. Playfully contrasting the brutality of the sport with the intellectual reputation of the schools, it soon becomes clear that boxing is less about posh boys beating the hell out of each other, than painfully self-aware young men in search of redemption and greatness.
