The MacBook(white) is currently the only MAC notebook that has the plastic body, the rest of the MacBook Range has been upgraded to aluminium body. This very feature makes it cost lesser as compared to rest of the series. When compared to the lower range models of MacBook Pro it shines because it comes for lesser price on the exactly same configuration. Since the white plastic body of MAC books are very much up to people`s anticipation the company has made the obvious choice of fitting this. The white plastic is not prone to finger prints as the black counterparts but on the other hand it gets scratched very easily and these scratches can make your notebook look cheap. Down the right-hand side you get the slot-loading 8x SuperDrive, down the left-hand side you get the physical connections: power, Gigabit Ethernet, Mini DisplayPort, 2x USB 2.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and a Kensington lock slot. Missing from the Pro models is the SD card slot and there is no sign of FireWire or IR. Internally Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth come as standard. The curves are still the best beauty feature of this notebook. The closed lid fits absolutely fine making it look great and the compact dimensions are 33.03 x 23.17 x 2.74cm with a weight of 2.13Kgs and that may not make it the best when comes to portability but is better then many of the rest. The underside of the MacBook loses the little rubber feet, instead offering a single-piece rubberized bottom which realistically provides better friction on surfaces than those four rubber feet ever did. This model of MacBook doesn`t have an interchangeable battery either. you get the isolated keyboard, which is very comfortable to type on. The plastic body it is set in doesn`t offer the support that the aluminium bodies do higher up the scale and we noticed some flex towards the right-hand side of the keyboard, although this doesn`t seem to alter the typing experience overall. You don`t get the option of backlighting like you do in the MacBook Pro. Beneath the keyboard is the glass trackpad, which is as excellent as ever. 13.3-inch screen offers up a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, which in a 13-inch panel is sharp enough. Brightness levels are goodwith direct brightness control on the keyboard meaning you can simply and easily change the brightness to suit your environment, or to prolong your battery or deny your neighbour a glimpse at what you are typing. The finish on the screen is glossy, which is great for watching movies, but not so suited to working on the move where reflections might be a problem. Maximum brightness will deal with all but the strongest sunlight, accepting that it will drain your battery just that little bit faster.

HDR Photo Merge

If you hate over-exposed highlights or under-exposed shadows in your images then X2 comes to your rescue with the High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photo Merge tool. DOF Control

One of the common problems with compact digital cameras is the lack of shallow depth of field (DOF). In other words, if you take a portrait of someone standing in front of a building with a compact digital camera then both the subject and the background will look sharp and in focus. In that case, the background is distracting and takes attention away from your subject. With a shallow DOF you can “blur” the background while leaving your subject in focus. X2 gives you the tool to draw attention to the main subject in your image by creating this simulated DOF effect.

Photo Aging Tools

A unique and easy-to-use feature in X2 is the ability to apply aging filters to your images and make them look like film images from decades long ago. The “Time Machine” feature gives you a choice of seven different historical periods to give your photos some creative effects. You can also customize the preset options to give your images a unique look … such as combining saturated colors with a late 1800`s style vignette.

Object Remover

Every photographer has taken at least one photo with one or more objects in the frame that you wish could be removed. Maybe it’s a “bunny ears” that your cousin put behind your head in the last family portrait, or maybe it’s that annoying kid on the beach who ruined that wonderful photo of your wife and daughter playing in the sand. With the Object Remover tool in X2 you can quickly and easily remove unwanted objects and people from your photos.

One small warning with the Object Remover tool is that complex textures tend to confuse the tool. For example, if you want to remove something in the wavy sand on a beach then the Object Remover tool might not seamlessly replace the sand.

Four years in the making, Office 2007 is nothing short of a revolution in the way we interact with software. The main applications all have a radical new look and new file formats. And, while the changes to the minor applications may be less obvious, they`ve all been updated with new features and capabilities.

User interface
The most obvious change, which hits you as soon as you start Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access, is the revolution in the UI. (In Outlook, the shock is delayed until you open a mail message, task or appointment.) Out go menus and toolbars, and in comes the Ribbon.
From usability testing, watching real people do their real jobs and from the data collected by the Customer Experience Improvement Programme, Microsoft noticed that people`s experience using Office degraded over time. Toolbars popped up to let you do something but were never dismissed. TaskPanes sprouted all over the place. Users could unintentionally drag the main menu off an application and then not know how to put it back.
The Ribbon aims to be the one place you look for commands to do things to your documents. It takes up the top part of the application`s window, and all the commands for the application are logically arranged in different tabs, grouped according to their function. Each application has its own set of standard tabs, which are available all the time, and several context-sensitive tabs, which appear when you select particular types of object. For example, if you select a picture in a Word document, you see an extra tab of tools, which let you format that picture. If you select a picture in a table, you see extra tabs for table tools and picture tools. Many complex formatting tasks are represented in galleries of choices and they often provide a “live preview”. Hovering the mouse pointer over the choices causes the text or object you`ve selected to take on the formatting. Point to a different choice and your document changes again. Then, just click the mouse to make the change permanent. Each application`s Ribbon of commands is fixed. There`s no built-in way to rearrange tabs, groups or commands. Microsoft found that in previous versions of Office, very few people ever deliberately customised the menus and toolbars other than accidentally. Being able to move buttons around also caused problems for IT support personnel when trying to help users. In Office 2007, the only bit of customisation left is the ability to add any group, gallery or command to the Quick Access Toolbar. This normally lives on the left-hand end of the window caption, next to the big round Office Button, but you can move it to below the Ribbon if you need more space. This lack of customisation may annoy power users, but it will be a great relief to the vast majority of people. If you really need to tweak the UI, you can write Add-Ins in Visual Studio Tools for Office or buy one of several third-party tools.
