The kindle is Amazons addition to the ever growing market of e-readers.

I have to say this e-reader is not the best looking gadget I have ever come across, but other than looks, its seems to have everything!

The camera is quite obvious in its functions, with a video recorder that will detect movement within a range, and then store all footage onto a micro SD memory card, up to 8GB’s of video can be recorded ready for reviewing later.

Philips has eventually joined the world of Noise cancellations with the SHN6000 headphones, designed specifically for your IPod.  The SHN6000 is IPod only because it comes with a dock connector rather than the usual 3.5mm headphone jack, which is typical of these devices.  The reason for this is so they can take the power from your iPod, meaning they don’t need a separate power supply, is that a good thing? I am not sure, the downside is it will lessen the power in your IPod, so I guess the question is, whether these headphones warrant the battery power they are going to use?

The headphones claim to cut out all the background noise around you, so you can enjoy your music in peace.  The do not include a Microphone so although they will be compatible with other Apple devices, IPad for example, you will not be able to use any voice activities, and there is no support for Apples Voice control either.  As a result of this you will need to control your IPod via the in-line controller.

When using the dock connector, the SHN6000 will take control of the volume, meaning you cannot change volume on the device it’s self, and will have to use the in-line controls, not a problem if you have the headphones on.

The in-line controller has a clip on the back, for easy attachment to clothing etc, and moulded in a white plastic design, it gives a rather stylish look.  The controls include a central play/pause button, with 4 surrounding buttons that control, track, skip, and volume.

A good point, and handy to remember, they also have an on and off switch on the side so you can turn them off and save your IPod battery life.  And you can also switch on and off the noise cancelation.
